What Is Critical Mass?

Critical Mass will form a disabled and non-disabled dance collective that will perform at exciting events across the West Midlands in 2022 including:

  • Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening & Closing Ceremony
  • The Opening Show of the Birmingham 2022 Festival in March 22
  • Birmingham International Dance Festival in June 2022
  • Live Sites around the city during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

Sessions and rehearsals will take place across the West Midlands, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

By taking part in Critical Mass you’ll learn new dance styles, meet other people and work with professional dancers to create and participate in an exciting range of performances.

How To Get Involved

If you’re interested in dance or know someone who is, get in touch here or if you would like to get in touch with someone from the Critical Mass Team please email or phone us here.

There’s no need to have any previous dance experience and we are particularly keen to hear from participants who self-identify as disabled and/or are from Black, Asian, mixed and mixed ethnic backgrounds.

Critical Mass is accessible to all, please let us know if you want to be involved and there is something you will need from us to make that happen.
