Following a hugely successful online festival in June, this autumn edition offers an imaginative and entertaining live programme, shining a light on the region’s amazing dance offer, engaging communities and celebrating diversity and inclusivity

Taking place in locations across Birmingham, BIDF will be in FOUR loctations this Autumn; Centenary Square, Digbeth, Handsworth Park and in Midlands Arts Centre. We will invite audiences back into public places and spaces to enjoy amazing performances as well as welcoming audiences back into the city’s venues.

How to get involved

If you are passionate and enthusiastic about dance and the arts, enjoy working with a wide range of people and have a “can do” approach, then we’d love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to get involved in an exciting large-scale event whether you want to add to your CV, love dance or simply want to see behind the scenes of a major festival.

Volunteers will have a particular focus on our outdoor spaces, starting with Handsworth Park on 25 September followed by City Centre (Centenary Square and Chamberlain Square) from 30 September to 3 October. Responsibilities will include: stewarding, acting as information points for the festival, promoting the festival and welcoming festival visitors of all backgrounds.

You will receive training, food and travel expenses (up to the value of £10.00) for each day and references will be available following your time with us.

Ideally each volunteer will be available for at least 2 shifts. Please tell us about your availability in the application form
