We have three amazing screendance programmes for you to enjoy all throughout the festival. If you can’t get down to the festival sites, enjoy them from your own home.

International Screendance

Four exciting international artists curate the 2022 programme from across the Commonwealth territories including practices of indigenous artists from Canada and Australia. Each artist will curate a series of screendance films representing their culture and looking at questions on the duality of identity through a postcolonial lens.

Midlands Made Screendance

A series of screendance short films and videos by Midlands-based artists commissioned by DanceXchange for the festival, including award-winning, Anywhere is a Dance Floor by Jaii Andrew & Fatt Butcher.

BIDF x Flatpack Screendance Competiton

Working in partnership with Birmingham’s BAFTA-qualifying Flatpack Festival, we present a selection of innovative screendance shorts made by filmmakers and choreographers around the world.
