Akram Khan Company ‘Chotto Xenos’

Inspired by Akram Khan’s award-winning final full-length solo XENOS, Chotto Xenos is a captivating dance production that takes young audiences back in time, exploring the often forgotten and untold stories of World War 1 colonial soldiers, in order to shine a light on our present and future.

Artistic Director of Theatre-Rites Sue Buckmaster in collaboration with video artist Maxime Dos, directs this special film.

With a powerful performance of Akram Khan’s stunning choreography by Kennedy Junior Muntanga, the film will feature lighting design by Guy Hoare, visuals by Lucy Cash, a set by Ingrid Hu, costumes by Kimie Nakano, to stirring original music by Domenico Angarano. 

Co-produced by Birmingham International Dance Festival and Edinburgh International Festival
