Black British Ballet project in partnership with Ballet Soul and Birmingham Royal Ballet will deliver a series of FREE ballet workshops for professional dancers and dance students and a Q&A session.
The workshop will be led by Ben Love, the Artistic Director of Ballet Soul and will reflect these influences. Ben Love is one of the pioneers of black British ballet and a former soloist with the Portuguese National Ballet, the London City Ballet and Northern Ballet.
Ballet Soul’s work is concerned with athleticism and the potential of the human body, exploring the human soul and the body’s capacity for deep physicality. How the body conveys emotion, the extremeness of bodyline articulation and dynamic shifts in energy and flow are all focal points of their work. Their influence in style comes from placing Africanist movement values on classical ballet and traditional dance vocabularies.
Capacity is limited so please book and reserve your FREE place.
