This is a free outdoor event
Dumped on an island, with just the clothes on your back, a seemingly random collection of objects in front of you and 3 other people, what would you do? Do you switch into a one for all and all for one mentality? Would you run, hide or would you fight?
The Other Side is about our consumerism and as humans, our desire for more.
It’s a reflection on our ability as humans to snatch, grab and look after ourselves before considering others. It tackles themes of greed, selfishness and our stubbornness in a world that need cooperation and empathy.
Come on the journey with the performers, that slides, crashes and leaps in a bid to get “the upper hand” before they realise that they will all only survive if they put difference aside and work this puzzle out together. Soon they will discover that the only way to succeed will be by finding a way to cooperate, support each other and lift one another up.
Inspired by movement from contemporary dance and parkour, “The Other Side” is a full-throttle, risk-taking experience dance performance with a powerful message at its core.
