We are joining Flatpack and independent curator & filmmaker Sima Gonsai.  We’re presenting one of two programmes of short films (several of which are UK premieres) that span across Flatpack Festival and BIDF.

The first installment of the competition will be available online on 28 May 2021 as part of Flatpack’s Film Festival and the second installment as part of BIDF on Monday 7 June, 12pm.

The second installment of the Screendance competition will be available online from Monday 7 June, 12pm on BIDF TV.
It features the following films:

In Plain Sight, by Tanin Torabi
• Green Dawn, by Fu Le
• Navigation, by Marlene Millar
• Material Bodies, by Dorothy Allen-Pickard
• Time Perspective, by Line Klungseth Johansen
• L’Appât, by Tang Chenglong

The judge for the Screendance Award is Ingrid Nachstern, the Artistic Director of Night Star Dance Company. She was a translator and a classical ballet teacher in another life. She has created 15 works and three films (Table Manners/Stopping at Red Lights, Freedom-to go! and Shoe Horn/Office) that have been screened internationally and won multiple awards. She now lives in London, plans to spend more time in Paris post-pandemic and attends daily ballet class.

The winner of the brand new Screendance Award will be announced at Flatpack’s awards ceremony on the closing weekend, 8pm on 30 May 2021.
