Harriet McGuire Smith

Sampad Marketing Manager

Harriet Mcguire Smith Volunteering Image

I volunteered for Love Music Hate Racism which was instrumental in me embarking on the career path I’m on today. I helped out with marketing and event support for the many gigs we used to put on in Birmingham. I got to travel down to London and be part of Notting Hill Carnival which was a bonus!

Working with Love Music Hate Racism gave me experience in finding out what I like to do and where my skills lie, allowing me to look for jobs that interested me. Also, when it came to interviewing for the position I wanted, it enabled me to draw from real-life experience. It also gave me the confidence to work within the arts and events world. Without my voluntary experience, I wouldn’t have landed my first internship with DanceXchange and I wouldn’t be in the fulfilling arts job I’m in today.
